Puako is a small, coastline city located between Mauna Kea Beach Resort and Mauna Lani Resort on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii. Puako is home to some of Hawaii's best weather and with only 5.7 inches of rainfall annually, Puako has the least rain on the entire Island. Even when Kailua-Kona is wet and overcast, Puako remains dry and sunny. Puako State Petroglyph Park borders the property providing for a quiet and secluded location with fascinating, ancient Hawaiian rock drawings and beautiful trees only a short walk away.

A selection of wonderful dining spots and art galleries are minutes away. About 20 minutes by car are the temperate highlands of Waimea and the intense green Kohala Mountains. A half hour beyond this is the tropical magic of Waipo Valley. Puako is also located within walking distance of several hotels and borders miles of beach. Puako even has its own friendly general store, complete with movie rentals and snacks just a short walk down the road.
